Population Projections
VISION
To maintain a sound accurate population growth model consistent with sound demographic projection principles for counties and jurisdictions within Arizona and the state as a whole.
MISSION
To provide reliable unbiased projections of future population growth and a single state repository for current population references enabling sound planning and decision making by government and private entities.
2006-2055 POPULATION PROJECTIONS
NOTE: These projections were made in 2006 by the Population Statistics Units at the Department of Economic Security. We are keenly aware that they are now outdated. We are working diligently on producing a new projection series based on Census 2010. However, proper projection methods call for more detailed demographic data than currently available. We are scheduled to release the new projections by the end of 2012. We will do everything possible to release them ahead of schedule.
Overview
Arizona State and County population projections by age, sex and age-group by sex and single-age population (0-19) by sex can be found here.
