Current Employment Statistics/NAICS
Nonfarm employment data are organized under the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS). NAICS was first used in data collection beginning in 2001 and continues to the present. Labor Force and Nonfarm jobs data for 2001 to the present are included together in the same files. Nonfarm jobs data from 1990 to 2000 are reconstructed time series histories, collected in the previous Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system and then later converted to NAICS. Local Area Unemployment Statistics
Determined by monthly household surveys in the Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) program.
